May gray has been full effect in San Diego but on Thursday evening the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Atop a hill above Old Town San Diego gathered flavor seekers from all parts of Southern California. We all had a mutual agenda, to celebrate 100 years of LA VICTORIA® Brand.
I could feel the energy of happiness and excitement as I strolled up the pathway to Juniper Serra Museum. There were friendly greeters that gifted me with two drink tickets (wine not?) and live music filled the air. A friendly bartender greeted you right around the corner with a glass of wine to start the celebration.
With wine in hand, I went around to the other side to check out the dinner set up and the live music. The setup was family style with long rustic benches and beautiful floral centerpieces. Absolutely beautiful!
Friendly waiters walked around serving Shrimp Tacos and Albondigas Pops made by Chef Christine Rivera. But where was Chef Rivera? I had to find out because after all she was the talent behind the delicious tapas and dinner to come.
Behind the scenes was a very busy chef and her staff preparing the bold and flavorful tapas. Below are the Shrimp Tacos and Albondigas Pops that were served prior to dinner. The unique aspect of the event was that each dish incorporated a unique LA VICTORIA® Brand ingredient to add savory flavor to the dish.
Chef Christine was very soft-spoken and sweet. She came out prior to dinner being served to welcome us and express her passion for the Mexican culture and food. Her passion was truly reflected in her food and I couldn’t wait to try all of the different dishes on the menu.
Family style dinner settings are my favorite! It gives you an opportunity to meet new faces and opens you up to amazing conversations. As I took my seat I was greeted by friendly couples and another influencer who I had bumped into prior to dinner. I couldn’t ask for better company and the conversations flowed through the entire dinner.
Next event is in Los Angeles on June 1st so don’t forget to get a seat here!
Sopa Seca was served shortly after the delicious Ensalada De Caesar. This savory plate was filled with flavor from LA VICTORIA® Brand Fire Roasted Diced Jalapeños and sofrito and topped with yummy requeson.
There was so much more to come, so I tried to control my appetite by trying just a little of everything. That was very hard to do because everything was so good! The foodie was coming out full force. Al Pastor Duck Legs were beautifully done with charred pineapple, roasted carrots, kale, and LA VICTORIA® Brand Pineapple Salsa Verde.
The food kept coming and the night was topped of with Arroz con Leche and Churros with Mexican chocolate. Good food and amazing company is the reason for my lack of dessert pictures. Needless to say my dinner celebrating 100 Years with LA VICTORIA® Brand was nothing short of amazing.
You can go enjoy LA VICTORIA® Brand celebration dinner for yourself at these upcoming events. Don’t forget to register because seats are limited. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 🙂
