5 Small Habits for a Healthier Life

Most of us want to live a healthier lifestyle but sometimes it can be overwhelming, not knowing where to start. Living a healthy life doesn’t have to be an all or nothing deal. It’s all about balance and finding what works for you.

Creating small habits to do during your day can help tackling a healthy lifestyle easier. They will become part of your daily routine and set you up for success. Here are my 5 small habits that I use to live a healthier life.

5 Small Habits for a Healthier Life

1. Start your morning off with a good breakfast.

Peanut Butter overnight oatsEating a good breakfast is key to feeling good early on in the day and being productive. I’m usually in a hurry in the morning so I love making a quick smoothie for the road or I’ll meal prep my meals so they are already ready for me to grab and go. My favorite recipe to meal prep are overnight oats. They are so easy to make and taste good too. Here are some overnight oats recipes that I like to make from Tone It Up.

2. Be active at least once a day.

Move your butt girl! Sometimes exercise can be a task. Think of other ways to incorporate moving in your day. Do you usually sit during your lunch hour? Take a 30 min walk. Do you eat dinner then plop on the couch? Another perfect opportunity to take a night walk with your roomie or significant other. The key here is to move, even just for a little bit.

3. Do something that makes you feel good.

This can be anything; wearing a cute outfit, using new makeup, treating your body with a coffee scrub. The list goes on and on. There is no right or wrong way to go about this. Do whatever makes you feel fab. 🙂

4. Balance your bodies pH level.

Essence pH10 Review

Let’s get scientific for a second. 😉 The lower the pH level the more acidic something is. That being said, we don’t want that for our body. Having an acidic body can be caused by excess consumption of things like caffeine, sugar, gluten, dairy, alcohol, soda, processed food, artificial sweeteners, and carbonated water.

Too much of these things can lead to symptoms like fatigue, excess weight, sleep problems, and chronic inflammation and all of that is a recipe for being unhappy and feeling unhealthy. I love drinking Essence pH10 to help restore my bodies natural pH and boost my vitality.Essence pH10 also helps flush out acidic toxins from the body and gives your body minerals, antioxidants (from Hibiscus), and hydration.

Because I love Essence pH10 so much, I partnered with them to give one of you a case of Essence to try for yourself! Enter below.

5. Find time to meditate and stretch.

Meditation and quiet time is proven to reduce stress. Just a couple of minutes out of your day can leave your feeling less stressed and more at peace. I love using headspace for meditation. It’s a guided daily practice that is easy to incorporate into your life and they talk you through it until you get used to meditation (if you’re a beginner).

Also, incorporating yoga and stretching can also give your body and day some relaxation. If you don’t have a gym membership or go to a yoga studio, YogaDowload is perfect for at home yoga. You can do yoga videos online or offline. Everything you download is yours to keep, that’s what I love about YogaDownload.

These are just a couple of daily habits I use to keep me on the path to living a healthy life.

Essence pH10 would help me hydrate for all that I do in my daily life including training for Half and Full marathons, working full time as an accountant and being an energetic mommy for my 2 year old.

I’ve been trying to fit in meditation in my day and find that first thing in the morning works best for me. I’m still getting used to it but I’ve noticed that its reduced my anxiety throughout the day a little. Every little bit helps!

I used to just make sure I ate breakfast – not a healthy one. It made such a difference when I started eating fruit and superfoods instead of just any food!
