7 Easy Ways to Detox your Life

We are well off into the beginning of the year and our healthy habits are either failing miserably, so so, or on point. No matter how you’re doing on your goals and resolutions for 2017, your body and life can always use a good detox. Detox is a process or period of time that a person either abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances. You can detox literally anything in your life. From relationships to finance, or more common, your body. 

Detoxing doesn’t have to be hard or complicated. I want to share 7 easy things you can do to help keep your life healthier, less stressful, and more rewarding.

7 EASY WAYS TO DETOX YOUR LIFE

1. Eat more Fruits and Veggies

Limiting processed foods will help increase your energy, reduce toxins in your body, and even help you lose weight. I love adding fruit and veggies to all my meals. For breakfast try adding spinach and mushrooms to you daily scrambled eggs or opt in for a salad at lunch. These small changes can have lifelong benefits. 

2. Stay Hydrated

The human body contains around 50-65% water. Water gives you life, literally. Have a headache? Try drinking water. Feeling tired? Again, have a glass of water. Try at least drinking a minimum of eight glasses of water. I always have a water bottle on hand to remind myself to drink up. 🙂

3. Exercise and Meditate

Try to establish a regular exercise routine. Getting regular exercise helps keep the body healthy and strong. Even if it’s a 30 min walk during lunch, any movement will get the heart pumping, release stress, and give you more energy. On top of exercise, it is important to find stillness in your day and to cleanse your mind. I love this book Meditations from the Mat to give me a little food for thought that I can reflect on.

4. Get Rid of Toxic Products

What you put on your body is just as important to what you put in it. Our skin is the largest organ our body has and absorbs whatever you put on it. So developing a habit and removing toxic products will help detox your body, believe it or not. Being toxic free when it comes to beauty products can be difficult. Start by choosing sulphate and paraben-free products. Some of my favorite non-toxic brands are: HASK Hair, 100% Pure, Juice Beauty, and Everyday Botanicals.

5. Remove Toxic Relationships

Negative people bring you down girl and no one needs that in their life. People who don’t support you and are constantly bringing you down deserve a swift kick to the curb, no questions. Surround yourself with people who bring the best out of you and who make you happy. 

6. Get Some Shut Eye

Sleep helps naturally relieve stress and is important in repairing and restoring the body. Try going to bed at the same time each night and creating a bedtime routine filled with all things lavender, a good book, setting your clothes out, and other things that will help you wind down and prepare you for the next day.

    I love Every Day Detox tea and drink it every night. I’m doing a cleanse right now and have eliminated all processed foods from my diet. It’s amazing how much more energy I have.

    Most of these are already changes I’m implementing in my life this year. I’m making a significant effort to eat more fruits and veggies and making sleep a priority. I’ve also cut several toxic people from my life and I can already see and feel the difference from these changes in my life.

    Tea is the best! Because it is like meditation at the same time! I love that throat coat brand and I love their Smooth move tea as well!
