I do the majority of my working out at home but recently I signed up for a gym membership. I need the bigger weights and cardio machines and it’s close to work which saves me time in the morning. There are many days though that I like to workout at home followed by stretching or quick yoga flow. It not only helps your body cool down but gets in a good stretch too. Here are my favorite yoga essentials for practicing at home.

7  Yoga Essentials for Practicing at Home

This is such a good resource to practice yoga at home. There are tips and modifications as well as poses and flows for you to try.

I cannot live without a strap. Not only just for yoga but for stretching in general. If you’re like me, you’re not as flexible as you may want to be. Having a strap on hand can help you get a good stretch and help you get into poses that you don’t quite have the flexibility to do.

This book is a daily reflection that you can incorporate into your daily life. They’re are 365 reflections that help integrate mindfulness. I love the messages in this book and it’s easy to read and understand. Definitely a must have.

Having a quality yoga mat is essential. You don’t want one that starts falling apart after a couple of uses or has you slipping all over the place. Gaiam makes really nice ones with fun patterns. See them here

6. Blocks

Another must have for the inflexible haha! A lot of poses call for you to have your hands on the floor or hips down. Think of the blocks as an extension of your body. Here’s some examples of how they can be used to have a stronger and more grounded practice.

7. prAna OUTFIT

It’s no secret that I love prAna clothing. They are a sustainable brand and mindfully made to support fair trade. That is two of the many reasons why I love them.

They not only have clothes for yoga and fitness but for hiking, water sports, and even work. For example, this Petra top! I tie it up so that I can wear it to workout in but you can also pair it with some jeans and cute wedges for a casual work look.

These yoga clothes are soooo cute! I love how they actually seem super practical but also cute! So many clothes that people wear to yoga nowadays are way too tight, but people wear it anyways because it’s flattering and cute. It’s nice to see some realistic clothes that are made specifically for the task!

I love PrAna yoga clothes! I have a pair of capri pants and a loose top to throw on after class and they are my favorite! I also like to do yoga at home, even when I get in a workout during the day. Sitting at my desk all day means I need to stretch when I get home!

  6. So I don’t really do yoga at all, but I love having a great yoga mat for when I do workouts at home! It’s great for crunches and planks and whatnot! And I am so obsessed with that top!
