About Christine

Hi friends, welcome to Collectively Christine. I’m so happy you stopped by. I’m Christine and this is my little piece of the internet. I love to workout, eat yummy food, craft and travel as much as life allows me to.

Collectively Christine

Collectively Christine started in November 2015 as a result of my craving to have a little blog of my own. I wanted a space to write and share my passion for healthy living, cooking, DIY projects, and other pieces of my life. So here I am! 😀

Passion for Health

I’ve always had a passion for healthy living but the fuel for my passion started from my mother in a non conventional way. My mother was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in 1998. It scared the life out of me and from then on I promised myself I would take care of my body (which I should have been doing all along).

My mom SURVIVED by the grace of God but continues to battle stage IV sarcoma stage IV sarcoma took her life in February 2016. She was a fighter and persevered despite what life threw at her. She inspires me every day to be a better person and supports my vision to help others achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Crafting Love

Crafting and creating has always been an outlet for me since I was a little girl. Most of my creativity and crafting skills sprouted from my watching my mother craft. She was always creating new decor for the house and planning our next Halloween costumes that she would sew piece by piece. I have always admired and been inspired by her love for creating. I learned how to Cross-Stitch by 9, make a pillow by 12, and I finished my first quilt by 15. Impressive right? I’d like to think so!

A little more about me

I’m a United States Navy veteran. I served 4 years in the navy where I launched aircraft off the flight deck of the USS Ronald Reagan. It was a great experience and I was able to travel to countries I only read about in high school. Some of the countries I visited were Japan, Singapore, Guam, S. Korea, Malaysia, Austrailia, Dubai, and Hong Kong. I’m so thankful that I got to serve my country and see the world. It was quite the experience as a young girl (READ MORE).

After the Navy I stayed in San Diego, CA and shortly got accepted to San Diego State University. I was on the rowing team for a year where I met some of my closest friends and experienced the limit of my body’s physical capabilities. I majored in Kinesiology and graduated in 2014.  Yippie!

Since then I’ve completed my certification and am now a certified Holistic Health Coach.
