Protein smoothies are my favorite. If you follow me regularly, you can find me posting a smoothie quite frequently. Not only are they an awesome source of protein but you can add so many different fruits for additional benefits. This weekend I whipped up a post workout smoothie in about 5 mins. It tasted so amazing that I had to share it with you all.
Cherry Bliss Protein Smoothie
Why is this smoothie so blissful you may ask? Well because I added a touch of raw Cacao powder. Cacao powder a great source of four scientifically proven bliss chemicals – serotonin, dopamine, anandamide and phenylethylamine. These blissful chemicals are associated with cosy feelings of wellbeing, happiness, and can even alleviate depression. A natural, healthy, delicious (and legal) way to get your happy buzz on. 😉 Another perk of this smoothie is that it’s high in antioxidants from the cherries and cacao powder. Cacao powder alone has 40 times the amount of antioxidants found in blueberries. Crazy right?? So not only is this smoothie going to make you feel good, it’s also going to protect your body from free-radicals.
This smoothie is so easy to make, you have no excuse not to try it. Remember, you only feel as good as what you put in your body. So feed your body whole foods and stay shy of packaged crap. Not only will you have more energy but you will feel great too.
