No summer is complete without an icy piña colada. Am I right or am I right? One of my favorite things about summer is the warm temps (I hate the cold), hanging out with friends, and sipping on a cold one.
Ok, this is not your traditional piña colada. This is a SHINE colada, made with award-winning Sugarlands Distilling Company moonshine! Sugarlands is based in Gatlinburg, Tennessee just outside the Great Smoky Mountains and they have over 10+ different moonshine flavors.
I created a fun recipe with some tasty Sugarlands’ Piña Colada ‘Shine. I call it the Coastal Shine and it is damn good.
Coastal Shine Colada
This creamy and fruity colada is what summers are made of. The Sugarlands Piña Colada ‘Shine has the perfect taste of creamy coconut milk and crisp sweet flavor of pineapple. I added some frozen pineapple and strawberries to make it the perfect cold summer drink.
- 3oz pineapple
- 3oz Sugarlands Piña Colada ‘Shine
- 1 cup frozen pineapple
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- Add all ingredients into a blender. (This one’s my favorite)
It’s easy as one, two, three!
You can enjoy Sugarlands Piña Colada ‘Shine blended in your own recipe or sipped on the rocks, enjoyed solo or in large batches with friends. Either way the flavor is amazing and it packs a punch at 70 proof, so you don’t need much.
I also tried the Blockader’s Blackberry Moonshine and it has such an amazing berry flavor. Give it a try with this Blackberry Sunset recipe by Sugarlands Distilling Co.:
3 oz Blockader’s Blackberry Moonshine
3 oz pineapple juice
2 oz club soda
1 pineapple slice
Dash of cayenne pepper
Build ingredients over ice. Garnish with blackberry and pineapple slice. Top with cayenne pepper.
I hope you love these summer sips as much as I do! I’ll seriously be hanging out all summer with Sugarlands ‘Shine and this Coastal Shine Colada.
Don’t forget to check out all their other moonshine flavors and products here or even better go in for a tasting if you’re around near Gatlinburg, Tennessee this summer! Happy summer!
