Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! And a Payday Friday, even better! We made it another week. This was week was quite trying for me. It’s been a month now since my mother has passed and I think the reality of that is starting to sink in. I had my emotional days this week, days I didn’t want to work out, days that I didn’t want to get out of bed or do anything but I worked through it. Thank God for chats with my sister to make everything feel not so bad. I’m ready to put this week behind me and continue to live my life to the fullest like my mom would want.

1. Favorite Quote

“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.” – Anne Lamott

2. Favorite Pastime (Watercoloring)

I’m loving my new watercolor set. I used to draw and paint a lot in high school and actually won a couple of awards for my paintings and poems. I purchased a basic pan set and paint brushes until I get better with my skills (I have this one). I find inspiration of course on Pinterest and I also signed up for this site called Skillshare.com. I signed up for 3 months for $0.99, you just have to cancel before then to not get charged monthly but I might keep it because there’s so many things to learn.  watercolor collage

3. Favorite Healthy Recipe Find (via Watch What You Eat)

I’m so loving this Healthy Brown Rice & Lentil Salad by Swati and Tushar over at Watch What You Eat. I’m making it this Sunday for my meal prep.

4. Favorite Workout (via Tone It Up)

I’m doing the 8 week challenge by Tone It Up and this week my favorite workout was their Burn It Up workout. I love the community of women that Tone It Up connects you to and the support. These girls know how to get that body toned and strong. I admire this fellow fitness professionals. 🙂

5. Favorite Shampoo (Avalon Organics Lavender)

Not only does this smell remind me of my mom but I love the way it makes my hair feel and smell. It’s nourishing and makes my hair super smooth. It’s certified Non-GMO, Vegan, and Biodegradable.

Thank you Monika. I appreciate your kind words. Yes I love Avalon products because it’s makes my hair so soft. Sometimes I don’t even use the conditioner because I don’t need it. I would love to get more in touch with my personal fashion. I have a very simple style but would love to add some fun pieces to my wardrobe. Zumba is so much fun! I haven’t taken a Zumba class in forever! I hope you had a great weekend with your bestie <3
