    Kraft Paper Gift Wrapping

    December 19, 2020 · holidays, Home

This year one of my goals was to really focus on wasting less. This season I’ve opted out of traditional and glammed out wrapping paper and went for kraft paper gift wrapping. I’ve been educating myself on how recycling works and what items can be recycled. Here is a general guideline I found for wrapping paper:

Regular and glossy wrapping paper is recyclable unless it has non-paper additives like metallic flakes, colored shapes, glitter and plastics. Foil, metallic and heavily laminated wrapping paper should also be thrown away instead of recycled.

So obviously kraft paper is not fancy or aesthetically pleasing as some wrapping paper but there are ways to spruce it up and this year I added some dried orange slices and pine clippings left over from cutting our Christmas tree.

    What I used:

    • Kraft Paper
    • Dried Oranges (Check out how to make them here)
    • Twine
    • Pine Clippings or you can use other clippings that you find out in nature (just make sure you’re not breaking any rules or cutting foliage in preserved areas).

What do you guys think? I’m going to add some custom embroidered tags to top them off.

Are you using kraft paper or traditional wrapping paper? I would love to know! Comment below and let me know what your wrapping style is.
