Hi friends, let’s have a chat about water! Water is an essential resource to our everyday lives. We seriously use it every day whether we drink it, bathe in it, clean with it,  or even swim in it. That’s why saving water is important all year round.

Because water is provided on a daily basis we often don’t think about how much we could potentially be wasting. That’s why I want to share some ideas on how to save water and talk about Let’s Turn the Tide™ campaign.

Turn the water off between soaping up and rinsing in the shower.

Take shorter showers.

Flush by pushing the lever only half way down for #1.

Turn off water while brushing your teeth.

Wash dishes in sink water instead of letting the water continuously run.

Cook less water demanding meals.

Reuse water for water plants. i.e. pasta water, shower water, etc.

Water plants in the early morning or late at night.

Wash clothes only when you have a full load.

Buy more efficient appliances.

Use the dishwasher over hand washing.

Take your car through a car wash that recycles the water instead of hand washing.

Turn your lawn into a succulent and rock garden.

Watch your water bill for possible leaks and fix them.

Turn off water while you was your hands.

These are just 15 simple ways to save water and make a positive impact on our water supply.

Along with these tips, I also want to talk about Tom’s of Maine® and Let’s Turn the Tide™ campaign.

Now it’s time to vote! There are 4 projects the you can vote for. I’ll be voting for The Colorado River because that’s where most of California’s water comes from and we have been in a drought for quite some time.

Great tips, Christine! Wasting water can be very expensive and really damaging to the environment. As well as looking at my water bill for leaks, I like to frequently check the house to make sure everything is secure as leaks can waste a lot of water. I actually had a tap that kept leaking even when I fixed it, but my local plumber was able to sort it out for me. I now always wait until a have a full load before washing too!
